The Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida and the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva invite eligible nonprofit organizations to apply for annual Empowerment Grants that support programs improving the lives of women and girls in Lee County.

Our grants focus on helping women achieve greater independence and well-being through access to healthcare, education, training, and affordable housing.

2027 Grant Priorities

For the 2027 grant cycle, proposals must support one or more of the following:

  • Healthcare – Expanding access to healthcare and wellness services.
  • Education & Training – Providing educational opportunities, workforce development, and skills training.
  • Affordable Housing – Promoting safe, stable, and affordable housing.

Successful applications should demonstrate how the proposed program empowers women and girls and supports their long-term success.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
  • Serve women and girls in Lee County, Florida.
  • Request funding for a new or existing program or project aligned with the grant priorities.
  • Be a non-sectarian organization. Applications from faith-based or religious organizations are not eligible.

Both previous grant recipients and first-time applicants are encouraged to apply.

Applications are due by September 14, 2026. Grants will be awarded in

Since 1995, the Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida has distributed funds raised through the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva’s annual fundraising efforts to organizations making a meaningful difference for women and girls in our community.

Each year, the Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations whose programs align with Zonta’s mission of building a better world for women and girls.
