Zonta Offers November 13 Collection Day
Zonta has arranged another Community Collection Day, set for 10 AM to 12 PM Saturday, November 13, in the parking area of the Sanibel Congregational United Church, 2050 Periwinkle Way.

Only a few days left for the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva fall fundraiser: “Shop Zonta’s Peek.” The online auction, which ends October 31, draws inspiration from Zonta’s former home tour, “Peek at the Unique.”
The Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida, the grant-awarding arm of the Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva, was honored recently by Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build project.
Bidding is now underway for “Zonta’s Peek at the Unique Auction” with supporters invited to bid on 70-plus experiences, art pieces, treasures and more!

Recently, seven members of the club attended the Zonta North American Inter-District Meeting (NAIDM) in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The Zonta Foundation of Southwest Florida is accepting grant applications from 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations in Lee County and Southwest Florida whose work helps to empower women. To qualify for this year’s awards, grant application must be submitted by July 16, 2021.
Angel Wings of SW Florida, Zonta’s newest 2021 grant partner, was recently admitted to the Cape Coral Chamber of Commerce, and Angel Wings’ President, Dr. Helen Gierke invited a Zonta SanCap representative to attend its ribbon cutting. At the ceremony, Gierke presented Zonta co-liaison Erika Steiner with a plaque and a certificate thanking Zonta for its generosity and public recognition of Angel Wings’ mission.
The Zonta Club of Sanibel Captiva would like to thank everyone that participated in the 2021 Zonta Collection Day. Items donated by the community were collected for local non-profit partners who had identified many items needed.
The Zonta Club of Sanibel-Captiva has chosen Ekaterina (Katja) Pedersen-Diaz, a junior at Estero High School, to receive the 2021 Young Women in Public Affairs Award. This award, which recognizes superior leadership skills and a commitment to public service, was established by Zonta International to address the disparity in the representation of women in legislature, and emphasizes the importance of women having equal participation in decision-making processes.
